Legacy Life Podcast

What legacy do you want to leave for your children? In this podcast I share my journey as I strive to help create a legacy of feminine social change so our children can grow up in a world where feminine & masculine qualities are equally valued. There is some work to do! It starts with us, in our homes making small changes that can have a big impact.

Episode One: Letting Go Of Perfection

I've been thinking about doing a podcast for a while & just not starting. I realised I was allowing perfection to stop me. I'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, & that's just it, we can allow having to do something well stop us get started. I am striving to show up authentically, & I know that getting going & sharing my message no matter how imperfectly is better than not getting going at all! So hear it is my very first episode of Legacy Life Podcast ...recorded with a small person sleeping next to me in the early hours of the morning.

Episode Four: When the Tiredness hits

This is a quiet one- whack it up after the intro, lean in and don't worry it does get louder! In this episode I look at the importance of taking time to rest, fill up your cup, surrender to our need to rest. More time with our families over the last year has made it even more important to take that time where we can. As children return to school in the UK the temptation is to rush to "catch up", when you actually want to enjoy some of the space created. Rather than feeling guilty, it's ok to take a breath, to take some time for you. It's been intense! Give yourself permission...

Episode Nine: - Freedom with learning in Early childhood

I chat with Sue Palmer, early years advocate and campaigner for raising the age at which formal learning starts through the Upstart campaign. We discuss what shifts in thinking are needed & how can we do that?
"Real play is needed for our children between 3-7. We are squeezing the play out & putting huge pressure on them to achieve, whether or not they are ready for it. Then we wonder why we have a mental health crisis!"
Sue has written over 200 books, software packages and TV programmes for schools on aspects of literacy and many hundreds of articles for the educational and national press. Over the last ten years, her books on child development in the modern world - notably Toxic Childhood  and  Upstart: the case for raising the school starting age and providing what the under-sevens really need - have led to frequent media appearances and comments about changes in children’s lifestyles. Episode Eleven: - It's our light not our darkness that most frightens us!

I received some guidance about my next steps, my next expansion, it felt amazing ... then the fear kicked it. What if I fail, what if I can't do it ... what if nobody wants to play. The procrastination started and I realised why I had stalled, and busied myself...

Episode Fourteen: - What legacy are you creating?

A legacy is something we are creating today, whether we realise it or not.
There are two types of legacies that we can leave behind, a positive or a negative legacy. If we’re not intentional about the legacy we are creating, an unintended legacy will be created whether we plan on it or not.
Lets get conscious about it.
