Legacy Life Podcast

What legacy do you want to leave for your children? In this podcast I share my journey as I strive to help create a legacy of feminine social change so our children can grow up in a world where feminine & masculine qualities are equally valued. There is some work to do! It starts with us, in our homes making small changes that can have a big impact.

Episode One: Letting Go Of Perfection

I've been thinking about doing a podcast for a while & just not starting. I realised I was allowing perfection to stop me. I'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, & that's just it, we can allow having to do something well stop us get started. I am striving to show up authentically, & I know that getting going & sharing my message no matter how imperfectly is better than not getting going at all! So hear it is my very first episode of Legacy Life Podcast ...recorded with a small person sleeping next to me in the early hours of the morning.

Episode Four: When the Tiredness hits

This is a quiet one- whack it up after the intro, lean in and don't worry it does get louder! In this episode I look at the importance of taking time to rest, fill up your cup, surrender to our need to rest. More time with our families over the last year has made it even more important to take that time where we can. As children return to school in the UK the temptation is to rush to "catch up", when you actually want to enjoy some of the space created. Rather than feeling guilty, it's ok to take a breath, to take some time for you. It's been intense! Give yourself permission...

Episode Three: - The Transformative Power of Connection

“We are surrounded by more people than ever, but yet people describe being lonelier than ever.” In this episode Emma shares the 3 types of connection that are all vitally important to feel grounded, connected to our purpose and understand that we have the ability to influence something bigger than ourselves. Connection to self Connection to others Connection to something bigger than us Emma came to this project by being responsive to her intuition and the things that feel right- spiritually, emotionally, intellectually. “Things just flow… when you are faced with a challenge it still feels it’s going in the right direction. The more aligned and in flow we are, the more we attract the positive.” Writing this chapter was difficult for Emma and challenged the limiting stories she had been telling herself. “Flow and alignment is not all unicorns & rainbows” There is so much richness in Emma sharing how she walks her talk, as she asks others and herself to step out of our comfort zones, and form connections. From which we ultimately experience love. Have a listen to hear what you might get out of reading her chapter...

Episode Five: - Spark for a spark

In this episode, Alexander answers the question "When you are faced with death … what can you do?" with a beautiful poem called Smile at fear by Chögyam Trungpa.
When you are frightened by something, you have to relate with fear, explore why you are frightened, and develop some sense of conviction. You can actually look at fear. Then fear ceases to be the dominant situation that is going to defeat you. Fear can be conquered. You can be free from fear, if you realize that fear is not the ogre. You can step on fear, and therefore you can attain what is known as fearlessness. But that requires that, when you see fear, you smile.

Episode Nine: - Lindani Nije

In this episode we get deep pretty quickly, exploring separation from the past so we can use it as fuel for the future rather than a limitation. “If you are a slave to your experiences then you don’t own them, your experiences own you.” The thing that didn't make it into the book & has sparked the idea for his next book was what it is to be a man in this world. Moving away from the "toxic expression of manhood", that is perpetuated in our world. This is why the Awakening legacy book has female & male voices within, to acknowledge the importance of both & redress the balance in a small way within the makeup of the authors. Majority female voices & stories, the opposite to how things are in our society.

"Being conscious of this & being able to make different conscious choices".

Episode Seven: - International Women's Day 2022 - Are you Being Palatable

"Women are the glue that hold families together

This International Women's Day I have been reflecting on a big question. Are you being palatable? So many women dim their light to be palatable, acceptable... the mother, daughter or wife you feel you should be. I have always felt I'm too much & often found myself trying to be more acceptable & less me. I know you probably wouldn't think it to look at me.
When we put everyone else first & everything else first we lose a sense of what we actually want. What if you changed the standard of sacrifice to honesty (or something else that resonates)?
What would become available for you & your family?
What can you let go of that you are doing right now that other people in your family could be doing?
What do you really want?
What actions would you take in alignment with honesty?
